Last updated: July 24, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Sequence Rivals (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our mobile application, website (https://sequencerivals.app), and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by other reasonable means. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to information processed in connection with the Service, including gameplay, accounts, purchases, advertising, analytics, customer support, and visits to our website.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, apps, platforms, or services that we do not control, even if they are linked from the Service. Those third parties are governed by their own privacy policies.

3. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories, depending on how you use the Service.

  • Account and profile information: username, display name, avatar or cosmetic selections, authentication identifiers, and account preferences when you create or link an account (for example via Google, Apple, or email).
  • Gameplay and progress data: match history, scores, ranks, streaks, achievements, inventory (coins, gems, cosmetics), settings, tutorial progress, and similar in-app activity.
  • Device and technical information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language, time zone, IP address, advertising identifiers (such as GAID / IDFA where available), crash logs, performance diagnostics, and network information.
  • Usage and analytics data: screens viewed, feature usage, session duration, matchmaking events, ad interactions, and similar telemetry that helps us understand how the Service is used.
  • Purchase and transaction information: product identifiers, purchase status, and store transaction references processed through Apple App Store, Google Play, or other payment platforms. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers; payment processing is handled by the applicable store.
  • Communications: messages you send to support, feedback forms, email correspondence, and related metadata needed to respond to you.
  • Cookies and similar technologies on our website: cookies, local storage, and similar tools used for essential site function, preferences, analytics, and (where applicable) marketing measurement.

4. Sources of Information

We obtain information directly from you, automatically from your device when you use the Service, and from third parties such as authentication providers, app stores, advertising and analytics partners, and anti-fraud or security vendors, to the extent necessary to operate and protect the Service.

5. How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

  • Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including gameplay, matchmaking, leaderboards, cosmetics, tutorials, and account features.
  • Authenticate users, maintain sessions, restore progress, and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Personalize your experience (for example cosmetics, preferences, and relevant content).
  • Process purchases, deliver virtual items, and manage entitlements.
  • Show advertisements, measure ad performance, and (where permitted) personalize ads. You may have device-level controls for personalized advertising.
  • Analyze usage, diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and develop new features.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, cheating, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms.
  • Communicate with you about updates, security notices, support responses, and (where allowed) promotional messages. You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights, users, and the public.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information as follows:

  • Service providers and processors: hosting, cloud infrastructure, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, email delivery, security, and similar vendors who process data on our instructions.
  • Advertising partners: ad networks and measurement partners (including Google AdMob and related Google advertising services) that may receive device identifiers, IP address, coarse location derived from IP, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads.
  • Authentication and platform partners: Apple, Google, and other sign-in or store providers as needed to authenticate you and fulfill purchases.
  • Other players: limited profile information such as username, avatar, rank, or public leaderboard standing may be visible to others during matchmaking, matches, or rankings.
  • Corporate transactions: information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
  • Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or integrity of the Service.
  • With your direction: we may share information when you ask us to or otherwise consent.

8. Advertising

The Service may display third-party advertisements, including banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open formats. Advertising partners may use cookies, SDKs, and device identifiers to serve ads, limit frequency, detect fraud, and measure effectiveness.

Depending on your region and device settings, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. On iOS, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework may require your permission before certain tracking. On Android, you can reset or limit advertising identifiers in system settings.

For more information about Google’s advertising practices, visit Google’s advertising and privacy documentation. You may also visit industry opt-out resources where available in your region.

9. Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use analytics and diagnostics tools to understand feature usage, improve stability, and prioritize product work. These tools may collect device and usage data in aggregated or pseudonymous form. Crash reports may include technical logs and, in limited cases, information about the state of the app at the time of failure.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Retention periods vary by data type. Account and progress data are typically retained while your account remains active. Support communications are retained as needed to resolve issues and maintain records. Advertising and analytics data may be retained according to our vendors’ settings and applicable law. When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it in accordance with our practices.

11. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and secure development practices.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity under your account that you authorize or negligently permit.

12. International Transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from your home country.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognized under applicable law.

13. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under the age required by local law, such as 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age threshold. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@sequencerivals.app and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information and, where required, disable the account.

Parents and guardians who believe their child has used the Service without consent should contact us promptly.

14. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, which may include:

  • Access: request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy.
  • Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Portability: receive certain data in a structured, commonly used format where applicable.
  • Restriction or objection: object to or request restriction of certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising: where required by laws such as the CCPA/CPRA and similar U.S. state laws. We do not sell personal information for money; if we engage in “sharing” or targeted advertising as defined by applicable law, you may exercise opt-out rights as described below.
  • Appeal: in some U.S. states, appeal a denied privacy request.

15. How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at support@sequencerivals.app with the subject line “Privacy Request,” and include enough detail for us to verify your identity and locate your data (for example account email or username and a description of your request).

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request and may deny requests that are excessive, unfounded, or legally exempt.

If you use platform account tools (Apple / Google), some deletion or data requests may also need to be initiated through those platforms for purchase or authentication records we do not control.

You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country or state of residence.

16. Additional Disclosures for California and Certain U.S. States

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with comprehensive privacy law, the categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 3 and generally include identifiers, commercial information (purchases), internet/electronic activity, geolocation derived from IP (coarse), and inferences used to improve the Service or advertising.

We collect these categories for the business and commercial purposes listed in Section 5. We disclose categories of personal information to service providers and advertising partners as described in Section 7.

You may have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing or targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To submit a request, use the contact method in Section 15. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, subject to verification.

17. Cookies and Website Technologies

Our website may use essential cookies required for security and basic functionality, as well as analytics or preference cookies. Where required by law, non-essential cookies will be used only with your consent. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

19. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to such signals. Except where required by law or where we honor a recognized opt-out mechanism, we do not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.

20. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as appropriate (for example in-app notice or email). Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes, to the extent permitted by law.
